What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise Lake Moogerah for its stunning natural beauty, particularly the breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. The well-maintained campground facilities, including a modern kitchen and clean bathrooms, are frequently highlighted. It's a popular spot for water sports and a peaceful escape for camping and stargazing. Some find shore fishing challenging due to weeds, and accommodation can feel a bit cramped during peak times.
"We stayed 2 nights here camping in a tent. This was a last minute booking as wyaralong dam was closed for the week and we arrived less than an hour after placing the booking.
Check in went perfectly smooth and you can set up anywhere in the designated area. We got a spot facing the sunrise and not too far from the amenities buildings.
The kitchen is near new all stainless steel with sinks to wash up in, microwaves and kettles are also available to freely use, and there is a fridge however we didn’t use it.
There is also 2 electric barbecues in the kitchen area and plenty of tables to sit and cook at.
The bathrooms are cleaned daily and have hot showers. Accessible bathrooms are also available seperate to the main bathrooms which is accessible by ramp.
We tried a spot of fishing however we didn’t have any luck from the shore due to the amount of gunk and weeds that covers the entire shore, he second any hook or lure hit the water it was gunned up and not going to catch anything. Best fishing would be from boat or kayak.
The views are amazing and there are a lot of black swans and other water birds in the dam."

"Nice and quiet good place for the whole family to go. Plenty of wildlife around to see and hear. There are spots where you can fish or swim but for the fishing you need a permit which can be obtained at the caravan park. Wheelchair friendly paths around here as well. Well maintained area. Highly recommend going to have a look at. There is a day use area as well as a camping area. As you are driving up to this spot watch out for cattle as there are free roaming bovines. ❤️🙂"

"I mean the place is gorgeous but you might as well be sleeping in strangers camsites with how crammed it is. And what ever bit my foot in that dam is gonna feel my wrath. Also the fishing is eh."
