What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors find Mudgee Railway Station a beautiful and historically significant site, appreciating its grand architecture and the nostalgic atmosphere. However, many express sadness over its abandoned state and the lack of operational trains, hoping for future restoration or reactivation of services.
"This is a historical and beautiful piece of rail history. I have seen other discontinued rail way stations and unfortunately this station has been abandoned and left to decay.
It is really sad to see such a beautiful piece of history left this way rather than at least being if not restored but maintained.
Not sure why this station was even closed in 1985."

"A lovely evening walk to Mudgee’s historic Railway Station. Last passenger train came through in November 1985. Still a glorious building though and the region has been served by coaches ever since. We are both train lovers and it would have been outstanding to take the train the whole way (from lithgow to mudgee) but there you have it."

"Now a antique place . Needs some updating but great to visit to reminisce about old days of steam trains"
