"What an extraordinary pub where locals, and steak and wine lovers converge. On a sunny mild Friday afternoon the back terrace was full of people enjoying the live music which the men likened to The Corrs and the first day of the test was on in the front bar. There is good reason the tables are set with steaks knives - the are an absolute highlight of the menu. Highly recommend the eye fillet and every dessert was amazing. The basque cheesecake was as good as you’d have in San Sebastián and the profiteroles were described as Best Ever The wine list and cellar selections were extensive with great advice from Matt the owner. This New Norfolk area is set to boom."

"We had lunch there midweek and we're really impressed by the quality and originality of the meals.
We shared a tasty chorizo entree and had rump steak and seafood chowder as mains. Both were excellent and the range of wine by the glass is extensive. The big, coffee cream filled profiterole with toffee caramel topping was a work of art and just the right size to have with coffee. We're from Sydney, so can't easily come back for more, but we would if we could !"

"This is Australia's oldest continuously licensed pub. A good claim to fame as it is near Hobart, Australia's second oldest city.
It is an interesting building. And the dining room is cool.
The lunch we had there today was well presented and my steak was cooked as requested.
As a drive from Hobart or if you are heading to or from the valley it is worth a stop."
