"A truly hidden gem of the Onk Valley Park that I never had visited in 40yrs although living within half hr drive of the ample carpark and trail entrance.
The well maintained track itself is literally " a walk in the park" taking only just over an hour return for even the most basic level of hiker, generally quite flat with only slightly changing gradients to get the blood flowing through the legs and body.
Lovely scenic vistas up and down the Onk River/Gorge once you reach the well constructed lookout platform, with interesting flora, fauna and wildflowers (early spring) to enjoy along the way."

Exploring the Onkaparinga Gorge Trails
For the more adventurous, a secondary, steeper trail branches off, descending into the gorge towards a waterhole. This path requires more effort and sturdy footwear, as it can be challenging, especially after rain. However, the effort is rewarded with unique views and a more immersive experience in the natural landscape.
When planning your hike, consider the time of year. Winter offers lush greenery, while early spring brings a display of wildflowers. Sunsets from the lookout are particularly breathtaking, though it's wise to be prepared for insects and to ensure you have adequate lighting for your return journey.
