What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Sweeney Reserve's beautiful riverfront walks, abundant wildlife, and excellent amenities for families and pets. The well-maintained paths make it accessible for all. Some areas may be affected by flooding, and wildlife sightings are dependent on luck and timing.
"This was one of my fave places to walk the dog prior to the water rising and flooding some of the reserve and the dog park by the river. It hasn't been rebuilt.
There is so much to do here. Concrete paths throughout the reserve making it suitable for all mobility levels. Saw benches, undercover tables and spots to have a picnic. There is a children's playground, exercise equipment scattered throughout and a dog park next to the playground/ toilet block. I've heard dogs go swimming in the river & the other day I saw people with fishing rods. If you're lucky you might spot koalas and other wildlife. There used to be a path going through the trees where a bunch of flying foxes are known to reside. The population seems to have increased based on the noise alone. Shout out to the council for removing this path & building a new one nearby.
The reserve is well signed and provides lots of useful information about the surrounds. Saw an advertisement for the Sweeney bush care group. Shout out to these guys as well."
