Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the Tangalooma Wrecks as a must-do day trip from Brisbane, praising the vibrant marine life and unique shipwreck snorkeling. Many recommend kayaking to the wrecks and highlight the thrill of sandboarding. However, some note the potential for strong currents and the expense of organized tours.

"Moreton island is a fantastic place to visit for the day whether you reside in Brisbane or elsewhere. One can either take their own boat or take one of the many craft that travel that way.

Snorkelling is one of the main pastimes and you can either hire the gear, or take your own.

It can be expensive depending on what you choose to do."

Michael O'Gorman

"The Tangalooma Wrecks are an absolute must-do when visiting Moreton Island! The water is crystal clear, the wrecks are full of marine life, and we even spotted turtles and colorful fish while exploring.

We chose to kayak out to the wrecks instead of swimming, and I highly recommend it. It’s a decent distance, and swimming can get exhausting, especially against the tide. With a kayak, we could take our time, enjoy the views, and take turns hopping in to snorkel when we reached the best spots.

Pro tip: Check the tide and current before you go, and try to kayak with it. It makes a huge difference and lets you enjoy the experience more without wearing yourself out.

A beautiful adventure that’s both fun and relaxing, perfect for anyone looking to explore the iconic wrecks up close!"

Kuan-Yu Chen

"Attraction interesting and worth considering. During the dive I met a shark at the very bottom - 2 meters. It was interesting. The attraction can be dangerous for small children because of the metal various rods that stand off."
