Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Maroochy River Conservation Park for its beautiful boardwalks, dog-friendly beach access, and convenient picnic facilities. However, some natural tracks can become challenging and muddy after rain, requiring appropriate footwear and insect repellent. Reddit

"A great place to take your doggo for a wander on the beach, with the added bonuses of a toilet and shower block and tables and seats under shelter for shade. It can get pretty busy here even on s weekday, but when we were there, there was plenty of folk coming and going. A great spot to take pics with more seats overlooking the beach. No shops on site for those who are wondering but they are only a short drivd away."

"Excellent my 3rd visit and always something to see"

"One star - as a result of recent weather conditions only.
I found the beginning of the Xanthorrhoea track only because I was using google maps.(I'd entered the name - Maroochy River Conservation Park) and it lead me to this track. The entrance is a "blink and you'll miss it" scenario and required a u turn and (main)road-side parking (there is no car park).
I'm not surprised a previous reviewer mentioned seeing a red bellied black snake in this area.
I visited at the beginning of April 2024 and definitely thought it was "snakey".
This area of the Sunshine Coast has received an unusual and significant amount of rain during the past few weeks. Extreme humidity and high over night temperatures prior to that.
When I walked this track the other day, it appeared to me that it may have been a few weeks since anyone had walked the track.
The track got progressively narrower the further I walked. The ground also got blacker, wetter and squelch-ey. I was grateful to be wearing an old pair of work boots. Fallen trees and bracken intertwined on the path and I crouched and passed through the cavities in them until I began navigating ankle deep mud and stagnant water and decided, for my safety, to turn back.
I'd doused myself with Bushman's insect repellent before beginning the walk and was glad i did. The mozzies are quite keen and a healthy size and even tried to fly up my nose!
I'm sure this track is quite pleasant and an enjoyable experience in drier conditions.
Having said that, I'm unlikely to return as there are other bush walks, wetland sanctuaries and places of interest in the Bli Bli / Mudjimba area worth exploring."
