Yangebup Lake, Cockburn Central entrance, Western Australia. (Near the Cockburn ARC) Absolutely stunning to see how the Cockburn City Council have looked after this space. They truly do care about their wetlands. Nice that they have allowed access for humans and dogs. An array of environmental exposure opportunities including differing surfaces to walk upon (tactile), variety of animals and plant...

Reviews Summary

Yangebup Lake is a highly-rated spot, particularly loved by dog owners for its extensive fenced off-leash areas and pleasant walking trails. Visitors appreciate the natural beauty and the opportunity to spot local wildlife. Some minor drawbacks include the scarcity of bins and the presence of midges, but overall, it's considered a well-maintained and enjoyable community space. InstagramReddit+1

"Great little place for dog owners. A majority of the lake's surroundings is fenced off, so if you want to let your dog roam free for a bit, you can be sure to do that. Even along Osprey Drive, the fence along the road has smaller square mesh on the bottom so prevent the little ones from running out to the main road. You will just need to put them back on a leash when you walk along North Lake Road and Tamara Drive. A majority of the footpath is sealed, so it isn't a back track for yourself to go jogging around as well, unless you like the soft dirt.

When you get to Parkes Street and you feel like wanting to get some flowers back for your partner or select one together on your walk, they are fairly affordable as well compared to most supermarkets, and they also have an tap and go machine if you have Apple/Google Pay on your mobile device.

I can't give it a full 5 stars because the lake it self is hard to see to access from the footpath, but then again, its probably full of bugs and other critters. There aren't any kangaroos in this reserve either. There are also some random artwork from schools and other centres along the North Lake Road section, which may need some touching up.

A circuit around the lake should take around 30 minutes if you are constantly moving, or 45 minutes if you need a break every now and then."
