On the morning we found the eagles, we met the man who owned the property we had ended up on. His property is on top of, and looks over the estuary. He gave us permission to wander his property. We stood in his backyard, overlooking the estuary and watched the eagles soaring. Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the stunning natural beauty and clear waters of the Bregenzerach Estuary, making it a perfect spot for swimming and enjoying the outdoors. The unique features like the old railway bridge and rock formations add to its charm, though some hiking paths can be challenging due to rubble.

"Beautiful surroundings. I started the walk from the center of Doren and followed the red route to Bregenz. You walk along the old railway line here, passing through a tunnel twice. Then you encounter sections where there's no path anymore. You have to walk over rubble. A very beautiful walk.
The old railway bridge is still there, with a wooden bridge over it. There's also a beautiful rock formation you can walk through."

Michael Makaaij

"Today I was out on my packraft on the Bregenzer Ach from Doren (Bozenau) to Kennelbach. For intermediate canoeists, the trip is easy to do with a water level of about 40 cm in Bozenau. There are a few rapids, and the flow is always good.

You'll be rewarded with incredible nature!"

Markus Meierhofer

"The Bregenzer Ach is undoubtedly a natural gem, impressing with its beauty and clear waters. Its greatest advantage is undoubtedly the fact that it is perfect for swimming at any time of year."

The old railway bridge, the rock formations (especially the one you can walk through), and the flowing water of the Bregenzer Ach are prime subjects. The tunnels also offer unique shots.

Use a tripod and a slower shutter speed (e.g., 1/2 second or longer) to create a silky, blurred effect of the water. A neutral density filter can help achieve this in brighter conditions.

The terrain can be uneven, so a stable tripod is important. Weather can change quickly, so be prepared for rain or wind. Also, be mindful of the rubble on some paths.
