"Very disappointing experience. When traveling from the train station to Hallstatt, there are no ATMs available nearby, yet the ferry staff only accept cash and will even push passengers aside if they don’t have it. It’s shocking that an official service, displaying the ÖBB logo, still refuses card or online payments in 2025. Instead of offering a reasonable solution (such as allowing passengers to pay an extra fee for card transactions or letting them ride into the village to withdraw cash), the staff insisted we walk 2 km to find an ATM and return. Shame on them for such poor service."
