Reviews Summary

Aviaticum Wiener Neustadt is praised for its impressive collection of authentic aircraft and aviation history, particularly for enthusiasts. While some visitors found the exhibit density and lack of detailed descriptions challenging, others highlighted the enthusiastic and helpful staff who offer excellent guided tours. The museum is considered a valuable resource for understanding Austrian aviation heritage.

"The museum has potential – impressive aircraft, interesting pieces of aviation history, and an atmosphere that should captivate any enthusiast. We visited with high hopes, expecting at least a basic introduction or commentary. My wife, especially, was looking forward to learning more.

The guide greeted us politely and asked for the entrance fee – and that was the end of his involvement. No offer of a tour, no information, no effort to engage us in any way. We walked through the exhibition on our own, reading what we could, but feeling like we were missing the bigger picture.

The real letdown came later, when we saw the same guide enthusiastically leading a full tour for another group – explaining, smiling, clearly engaged. It wasn’t just disappointing – it felt unequal. At the very least, we would’ve appreciated being told that guided tours were only available on request or for certain groups."

"I read a recommendation about the museum in a book and decided to go and visit it, which I did very well.
The two tour guides were very enthusiastic and helpful; they answered all my questions and were happy to show me around their museum. It's easy to talk to them; they are very direct and kind people.
It will remain an unforgettable experience for me, and I plan to visit again in the near future.
I recommend it to everyone with all my heart!

"Impressive exhibits, Austrian aviation history as close and authentic as you'll hardly find anywhere else.

Unfortunately, there are too many exhibits displayed in a much too small space. They steal each other's spotlight, so to speak. Furthermore, the individual aircraft, engines, and other components are poorly described and, without prior knowledge, will likely be rather boring for most visitors. For those with a certain interest and knowledge, however, this is a real goldmine!!!

The highlights include, of course, the BF109 G, built from original parts, the replica of the Etrich Taube, and an original, preserved Jumo 004!

A true must-see for all aviation enthusiasts!!!"
