What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Barbar Temple is a site of immense historical and archaeological significance, offering a direct link to the ancient Dilmun civilization. Visitors appreciate its free admission and ample parking, but many note challenges in locating the site and a lack of on-site information or preserved artifacts. Improvements are anticipated with new walkways.
"You need to be really patient and determined to find the place - first the driver following the popular maps application drove into somebody's yard and then we had to look very close to find arrows leading to the temple on the fence of an on- going construction. The remains are interesting, it would be great if there was an image showing what all 3 temples could look like and smaller boards explaining function of different parts."

"Place of tremendous history, archeological significance but difficult to find, no preserved well. Visitor centre unmanned, no artefacts on display. Same site in Europe would have been projected so well that people would have flocked towards it.
Temple ruins are 5000-4000 years old. Discovered in 1950s. By Europeans.
Quite possible they took all the artefacts into “protective custody” and there is nothing left to display on site.
No tickets needed."
