From the centre of Brussels, take the tram to Tervueren and its museum, while enjoying the many attractive stops along the way! ✨😉 🇧🇪 🛤️ 🚋 📸 : @kate_and_thecity Tram 44 is one of the world’s great tram rides. The old yellow trams that run out to Tervuren are relics of the 1950s that gives the ride a nostalgic mood. Down Avenue de Tervuren they rattle, past the grand embassies, the rolling Parc...

The iconic tram 44 going between Montgomery - Tervuren - summer edition 💚 Part of the itinerary goes through the beautiful Sonian forest 🌳🌲 We went to make this video today because from 1 June and until end of August the tram will be replaced by a bus (Tram museum - Tervuren stations) due to the works, so the next time we take the tram it will probably be the autumn scenery! 🍃 📍Tram 44, arrêt Tir ...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise the Brussels Tram Museum for its well-preserved collection and the nostalgic charm of its vintage vehicles. The adjacent Train World museum is also a significant draw, offering a comprehensive look at Belgian railway history. The scenic Tram 44 ride to Tervuren is frequently highlighted as a must-do experience. Some visitors note that the museum's exhibits could be more interactive, and information on specific trams might be limited.

"One of the best museums in Bruxelles, suitable for adults and children. In a relatively small space this museum is able to show the whole evolution of urban mobility in Bruxelles, from the first horse-powered "trams" to the current technologies.
The approach of the museum is olistic: you can also find sections concerning the evolution of tickets, signals, communications, electricity, taxis, railway station architecture , rails... basically everything concerning the history of transport in Bruxelles.
The museum is children friendly, your kids will love exploring the old coaches of trams and buses. There is a nice bar in the corner of the building.
Not to miss: sometimes the museum organises excursions with the old tram and buses: they are always a success.
Inside the museum there is also a specialised shop about transports, tram and buses, with books, souvenirs and other memorabilia.
Accessibility is easy, especially by tram: there is a dedicated tram stop.
A must see if you like this subjects or just for a different afternoon!"

"Kids liked getting on and off the multiple trams and buses. The exhibit is very traditional with modes of transportation parked in a hangar and some pieces of exhibits (rails, engines , etc). The museum is very inviting for your kids. Toddlers and preschoolers loved to pretend to drive a tram and get in the wagons. There’s also a cafe area with kids books and colouring for kids which is really nice to have.
Check the schedule for the historic tram tour as it only runs every 90 min or so.

It would be nice to have a large map of tram network over the years or an evolution of urban transportation over the last decades to situate oneself within Brussels.

€9 per adult. Free for young kids.

Expect about 90 min without the historic tram tour. The tram tour is about 60 min

Only open on weekends in the afternoon

Very interesting boutique/book store for souvenirs and gifts."

"(One of) my favourite museums in Brussels, housed in a former tram depot it shows the development of trams (and other forms of public transport, incl. buses and taxis) in Brussels with a large collection of vehicles. Includes a cafe and a gift shop - and a tram ride in a historic tram through (what must be one of the most scenic tram rides in the world) through the forest to the Africa Museum in Tervuren!!!"
