While the climb up the pyramid is demanding, the historical insights and well-preserved ruins make it a worthwhile experience for most.

"Xunantunich is an amazing site. We went on a Saturday and it wasn’t crowded. Half hour drive from San Ignacio. There’s a ferry that is free to cross. And, you can hire guides at the ferry to give you tours of the ruins for $50 USD. Then, you can drive or walk up to the site. We drove, it would be about a mile hike uphill. You’re able to walk on and climb almost all of the ruins. The views from the top are stunning. Beautiful place."

Daniel Bodager

"A truly amazing experience! Traveling should be an experience. History, culture, and food a life-changing elements to any good vacation if you are in Belize, definitely explore the Mayan culture. an early civilization that was so organized and advanced. Stand where they stood, walk where they walked. Explore the ruins of the temple and royal residence. You can climb to the top of the tallest structure and feel the energy and presence that yet remains."

Todd Millines

"This is a Less visited Mayan Archeological site vs those located in the Yucatan but it's still impressive! We combined it with the river rafting and cave excursion and it was a blast!"
