What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors praise the breathtaking views and historical immersion of Itacolomi State Park, highlighting its significance to Brazil's bandeirante past. However, the park's current closure and the resulting lack of clear signage on alternative trails are significant drawbacks, making a local guide highly recommended for a safe and enjoyable hike.
"Amazing hike, with great views. It was a total of 12 km out and back. To access this hike you must enter through the Parque Estadual do Itacolomi; don’t follow the Google Maps address. Drive into the park and pay $20R per person. You then are allowed to drive up to the Visitor Center which is 5km from the entrance of the park. Start your hike from the visitors center."
