What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Moreré Natural Pools are celebrated for their warm, transparent waters and unique figure-8 formations, offering a relaxing wading experience. However, many visitors note that the beauty can be diminished by significant crowds and the sheer number of tour boats, leading some to prefer more tranquil spots. The shallow nature of the pools makes them ideal for relaxation rather than swimming.

Barraca Morere is really nice"

"Beautiful but too crowded.
We took a boat trip (volta à ilha de boipeda) to Moreré. It's a beautiful spot, but the sheer number of boats makes it lose some of its charm. As a result, there weren't many fish until I grabbed some cookies :-).
But because of the crowds, I preferred the natural pools at Castelhanos. It's more peaceful, making you feel at one with nature."

🎫 🧭 Onsite Experience
The best time to visit is during low tide when the pools are most visible and shallow. Arriving early in the morning can also help you avoid the largest crowds.
You can relax in the warm, shallow waters, wade around the unique figure-8 pools, and snorkel to observe marine life. Some tours offer Hawaiian canoe rides.
The water is very shallow, often not reaching knee-height at low tide. It's more suited for wading and relaxing than for swimming laps.

Prices at beach bars can be higher than in town due to the remote location. Bringing some of your own snacks can help manage costs.

A wide-angle lens is great for capturing the expanse of the pools and coastline. If you have a GoPro with a dome port, it's ideal for capturing split shots (half above water, half below).
Early morning or late afternoon generally offers softer light and fewer harsh shadows. However, the clear water can be photogenic at any time of day.
Yes, you can get great aerial shots of the pools from the boat, especially as you approach or depart. This is also a good way to capture the scale of the area.
