"Morro da Conceição marco da ocupação inicial da cidade pelos portugueses; até hoje, a maioria das casas têm estilo das tradicionais casas portuguesas. Com seus azulejos e Santos Católicos nas fachadas. Muitas com suas fachadas tombadas. A origem do nome vem de uma pequena capela em homenagem à N.Sra.da Conceição, construída em 1590, por uma devota, Maria Dantas. Anos mais tarde, ela doou aos frades do Carmo a capela e as terras do entorno, para a construção de um convento.
