Reviews Summary
Reviews for the ferry service to Tortola are mixed, with some praising punctuality and smooth rides, while others cite poor customer service and delays. Fort Charlotte itself is described as neglected, with its potential as a tourist attraction unrealized.
"Horrible customer service,
Showed up early for boat tickets. Standing in line. There were several white groups ahead of us. Then, when it was our turn, the felmale attendant asked for reservations. Not mentioning it to the other people ahead of us. I'm 40 traveling with my 2 year old son who has health issues and my 81 year old grandmother. We're not white. The way the lady dismissed us and was extremely rude and condescending. When we weren't moving fast enough upon hearing the news. I said, 'My grandmother is a senior, is there anywhere she can sit. The lady spoke with a nasty tone and waved her hand in the dismissive manner. My grandmother walked back over to ask her a question as to where the bathroom was and more information about the next available ferry. My grandmother couldn't get a word in, and the lady cut her off and dismissed her. I do not take kindly to someone being disrespectful to not only myself but also my grandmother.
This was my first visit to Tortola at the end of this trip here. Everything was wonderful up until now. We booked for a later time with Smith's ferry company.
I'm very disappointed. I do not recommend this company. As a world traveler and a person who's very chill, this really upset me."

"Decent ride from STT to Road Town. Left late.... arrived late. They didn't crank on much speed to make it up. Comfortable ferry. 10USD bag check is a crock as the bags were only stacked at the back rail (they all made it across...)"

"Right on time and very smooth trip. Great restaurant right above the ferry dock."
