"Others said you only need an hour for this but we were there 1.5 hours and could have stayed longer. The touch pool was guided by Ricki who was full of information, patience with the children and respect for the animals. Extremely enjoyable and educational.
Pearl greeted us at the door and showed us around with enthusiasm. Really set the scene.
At the end, the famous Laughlin regaled us with stories of nudibranchs. His excitement about the subject made me see them in a whole new light.
All in all a great introduction to these sea creatures and a good foundation for our subsequent beach combing."

"We visited the Deep Bay Marine Field Station today and had a fantastic experience. It was interesting, informative and definitely worth the stop.
A special shout-out to Lauchlan, the summer student working there, who was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly knowledgeable and really made our visit extra memorable. When he found out I was interested in nudibranchs, he went out of his way to share his knowledge and even showed me their sea hare, which I absolutely loved.
This isn’t a full scale aquarium, so if that’s what you’re expecting, you might be disappointed. But if you’re curious about local marine creatures, especially those from the intertidal zone, there is so much to enjoy. They have a very large main tank that you could spend a long time observing, a great touch tank, whale bones and more.
The experience is really what you make of it, ask questions, engage with the staff and you’ll get a lot out of your visit. Highly recommend for anyone with an interest in marine biology or BC’s coastal ecosystems!"
