What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors generally find the Joseph Brant Museum to be a compact but informative stop, particularly appreciating exhibits on local history like the Brant Inn and the engaging video game display. However, some feel the museum's size might not fully justify the admission cost for a brief visit, and the house replica is not open for tours.
"We were there Saturday for our son’s Vow Renewal. We didn’t tour the museum as we were there for a special occasion. The private room was very nice. They had a kitchen (small but very useful) to store the food which was great. Robin Hill met us when we arrived, she was absolutely fabulous and explained everything in detail. Her service was amazing!"
Tracey Ryan
"I recently went to the museum and I was disappointed. The pictures and items on display were great (I enjoyed seeing the Monopoly Style Burlington Game) but it is quite small. It took me about 30 minutes to go through the museum and I saw and read everything! The house, is a replica, and isn't open to the public. I had hoped the house was set up like a historical home that we could visit. I had hoped for more information about Joseph Brant himself and there was a display but if you don't know who Joseph Brant is, then you might be confused. I did enjoy the room that talked about the Brant Inn and I liked the various clothing period pieces that were displayed. I love museums but this was not worth the money. If it were free, then absolutely go. It is a pricey trip for 30 minutes. I bought a ticket in advance because it seemed to be the only option, but is isn't necessary for this museum."
Nancy
"Disappointing. Burlington has so much incredible history. We viewed one small historical exhibit that lacked imagination, and no entry was allowed in the home.
The building’s interior felt rather depressing. $10 each. 20-30 minutes viewing time should do it."
