Metrotown is still the largest and most iconic mall in the Lower Mainland — just like I remembered from 20 years ago. Coming back here in my 30s brought back memories I didn’t even know I’d lost. It reminded me of being young, walking through this place when life felt a little lighter.
The mall has changed a lot — in a good way. The layout is more modern, the stores have been upgraded, and there’s a stronger presence of designer brands now. It still has the energy of a busy city hub, but with a more polished feel than it had back then.
And then there was the mouse.
Yes — a small, cute mouse ran across the tiles. Not a rat, just a curious little thing. People gathered, some smiled, but of course one “Karen” reported it like it was a crisis.
