What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Delphi Point Park is praised for its unique, peaceful rocky shores and warmer waters, offering a serene escape. However, visitors should be prepared for limited, strictly enforced parking and the need for water shoes due to the slippery, sharp shale.
"This beach was an absolute hidden gem! I spent a sunny afternoon here and it couldn’t have been more peaceful. The weather was perfect — blue skies, a gentle breeze, and just the right amount of warmth. What made it truly special was how calm and quiet it was. The only sounds were the soft waves gently hitting the shore, which created such a relaxing and meditative atmosphere.
Unlike sandy beaches, this one was covered in smooth stones, which gave it a very natural and raw beauty. It felt untouched and private, like a secret place only a few people know about. There were barely any other visitors, which made it even more serene. I sat for a while just listening to the sound of the waves and soaking in the scenery — it was the perfect escape from the noise of everyday life.
I’ve added some photos and a video to give you a sense of the peaceful vibe here. If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and almost therapeutic place to unwind, I highly recommend checking this beach out. It’s one of those spots that stays with you long after you leave."

"Outstanding beach if you don't like sand -ie: dog owners. Warm water and shallow entry. A bit slippery so water shoes are recommended.
BUT the way your day will be ruined is by the ruthless enforcement officers trolling the parking lot and surrounding area. Even as a tax paying citizen with an enrolled car for recreational parking in the Blue Mountains, I was ticketed for being slightly off of the parking lot area. $50 - ridiculous. Maybe make the lot bigger!"

"We drove from Brampton to see the sunset in the Collingwood area. We stumbled on Delphi Point Park in our travels. There was lots of room to park. The area was very clean. We walked down a path to the water to watch the sunset. The shore was very rocky however, there were tons of perfectly flat rocks to sit on. We stayed about a half hour and we were on our way."

The Unique Fossil Shale Shores
Travelers often describe the experience as peaceful and meditative, with the gentle lapping of waves against the rocks being the primary sound. It's a place that feels less developed and more in tune with nature. The shallow entry into the water also makes it accessible for those who prefer not to swim in deep water.
While not a traditional beach, the unique character of the fossil shale shores is precisely what draws many visitors seeking a different kind of coastal experience. It’s a spot that encourages quiet contemplation and an appreciation for natural textures and formations.
Navigating Parking and Peak Times
Compounding the parking issue is the strict enforcement of parking regulations. Visitors have reported receiving tickets for being even slightly outside designated parking areas. This has led to strong opinions from some, suggesting the lot should be larger or enforcement less ruthless.
To best enjoy Delphi Point Park, it's highly recommended to arrive early, particularly if you plan to visit during peak hours or for sunset. Alternatively, consider visiting on a weekday morning for a more relaxed experience with less concern about parking availability and potential fines.
