Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Fort Edmonton Park for its immersive historical experiences and engaging costumed interpreters. The park offers a vast amount to see, from the 1885 fort to the 1920s streetscape, with popular attractions like the steam train and midway games. However, some find the park's size requires a lot of walking, and food services can be slow or run out of items.

"Get an early start, you need about 5 to 6 hours to see everything without being rushed. I recommend waiting in line and taking the train from the entrance to the back of the park then walk your way back to the start, the queues and wait for the steam train are the longest, approximately 30min. If you're with young kids the games will be at the end which will keep them interested rather than doing it first. The food shop serves excellent food but can take a while with limited seating, there are seats outdoors, get someone to order while someone gets a table, don't wait for your food then look for a table. After lunch you can use the tram to get between attractions rather than walk. Most games and rides are free except the pony ride."

"Really well done and lots to see. Too much to see actually! It’s too much to walk in a day. It took myself, my elderly father in law and my husband 4 hours to see it all. The steam engine train ride was great, but the streets and buildings are too far apart so I’m not sure how they could improve that. The staff were friendly and actors along the way were a nice addition. Nice to go on a day that’s not too hot cause you will do a lot of outside walking. Interesting experience though for all who like history!"

"We went to see a show at the Capitol Theatre which is in the park. We had about 45 minutes to look around which was fun. They had performers but they didn’t know when the theatre opened or much else other than their routine. The peony garden was lovely. There is lots to see and we were looking for a lunch but the bakery had run out of everything in an hour 🙃. The Capitol Theatre is charming. It has been refurbished but authentically to period in most cases. The seat was comfortable and Once Upon. Matress was a fun show. We had time to pass before we could get directly into the park so we walked along the river where there are nice paths and that was lovely as well."
