La conception est issu des plans de l'architecte M. Mainguy, de Nantes.  La construction fut réalisée par M. Bonnet, entrepreneur de Guérande. La flèche de l’église qui culmine à 45 mètres fut construite par l'entrepreneur Le Normand entre 1900 et 1901. L'horloge est l’œuvre de Gourdin, père et fils, horlogers de Mayet dans la Sarthe.
