What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
NBCCD is praised for its inclusive and inspiring community, with supportive staff and a vibrant atmosphere that fuels creativity. Many students find the Foundation Visual Arts and Advanced Studio Practice programs highly beneficial for personal growth and career launch. However, some alumni express concerns about the direct job market applicability of certain programs, suggesting a need for supplementary experience.
"I've had an amazing 4 years here at NBCCD! The instructors and staff ensure that it is an inclusive and drama free environment. Everyone is so friendly and inspiring. If I was ever in a creative block, all I had to do was walk through the halls and admire all the amazing work hanging, or go visit friends working in other studios. I would highly recommend anyone interested in the Arts or Craft to come here!"

"The Foundation Visual Arts program was a wonderful learning experience, filling in all kinds of holes in my knowledge, exposing me to new explorations. As a mature student and experienced craftsperson, I felt accepted and challenged at the college – attending was the best gift I’ve given myself in a long time. The Advanced Studio Practice program then gave me tools to launch my practice as a professional. So worthwhile."

"I would avoid this school..Sure it's fun while you are there but good luck getting a job after. I graduated top of the class in graphic design only to move away and find out the education is useless and does not compare to schools elsewhere. I ended up at OCAD where I was told the school was a a waste of money and at that time I was soo far in debt that it was suggested I get out of arts. So I did. I ended up going back to school for another 5 years, getting a designation in accounting and wound up at a gaming studio. So for me things worked out, but I don't know anyone I graduated with that are actually working in the fields they studied"
