Reviews Summary

The Green Gardens Trail is a highly rewarding hike offering diverse landscapes from barren tablelands to lush forests and a dramatic coastline. While the descent is beautiful, the strenuous uphill return is a significant challenge for many. The charming sheep sightings and unique geological features are consistently praised.

"We came in late May. The hike is very beautiful but very long. A large portion of the hike is spent going down and then up again in a gully with no views. There were some interesting sights after you get pass the boring part, though. The coolest part of the hike is by far the herd of sheep grazing near the end of the trail. There is also a beach to relax for a bit before making the arduous journey back."

Andy Z

"I do this trail often! It can take 3 to 4 hours, there's a lot to explore, which usually I do. There's a walk over the tablelands, all switch backs no stairs anymore since they updated it, then a forested area, the green garden meadows, the beach and waterfalls, sea caves etc. There's usually sheep roaming around which is how green gardens got so green. Lol A great place to relax down by the ocean if anyone is interested in back country camping."

Natalia Crocker

"Beautiful well maintained trail. About 5km walk from the top to the sea, can be steep for some segment. Plan enough water and time for the return as in the sun it can be hard."
