"A gorgeous two story home built in 1827. It's located on the headwater trail loop. When we went there the house and bathrooms were closed, I'm guessing it was off season. There are several plaques and info board explaining the rich history. The trail itself is gorgeous. the main loop is about 12km and takes just over 2 hours. The griffin house is located about 100 m from the trail. You will see signs for it, can't miss it. We'll worth checking out if you are already on the trail."

It'll make you think about what today could have been like. It's also incredibly beautiful and peaceful in the surrounding area. A heads-up on the parking: There's a dilapidated hermitage nearby which is $10 to park, payable by credit or debit only. That's your only option unless you have a disabled permit. The grounds are not well-suited to those with mobility issues. The house is not accessible to those requiring a wheelchair. Awkward hours, so plan ahead."
