Wait… this is Kamloops?! 😮 This landscape looks like it belongs in Drumheller or Utah, but it’s right here in British Columbia! Dramatic hoodoos, desert-like terrain, and even slot canyons… Kamloops is one of the most underrated outdoor destinations in Canada, imo 🤗 Have you ventured into Kamloops?? @Tourism Kamloops #kamloops #explorebc #bcroadtrip #desertvibes #britishcolumbia

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about Isobel Lake's serene beauty, cooler mountain temperatures, and affordable camping. The easy trails and abundant wildlife make it a peaceful escape. Some note the bumpy access road and the need for cash and offline maps due to lack of cell service.

"This is a beautiful spot!! There are resident loons, frogs, and lots of other animals. The lake is gorgeous and serene, great for a paddle or a float. This place was ten degrees cooler than Kamloops when I went (during a hot spell). The rec site has great sites for camping and quite a few - there were still spots available when I arrived on a Friday night in August. I highly recommend camping here. Camping details: take a rutted road (totally doable in a car, just bumpy) for 40 minutes up a mountain and you are there. Sites are only 15 bucks a night and ONLY cash is taken. There is no cell service here. Most sites have shaded areas. There is a walking trail that can be used by those with low mobility - see pics for more info on that. Very nice site manager! 5 star experience."

Jess Warren

"Beautiful fall hike. Easy for kids, minimal elevation changes. Not busy at all."

Brett Le Clair

"Early mornings on the water were spectacular before the smoke rolled in."
