Fleetwood Creek might be one of Kawartha Lakes’ lesser known trail systems, but wow—it’s truly a feast for the eyes at this time of year. 📍Fleetwood Creek Natural Area, Pontypool #kawarthalakes #ontariofall #ontarioleafcolours #ontariohiking

Another day another hike! This one was short and sweet but had a fantastic incline and a gorgeous lookout. Located in Pontypool, Fleetwood Creek Natural Area has three different trails. I took the Valley Trail (2.2 km) so that I could visit the lookout. I’ll be coming back here to check out the others! #hike #Hikewithme #greatoutdoors #exploreoutside #exploreontario #ontariotravel #ontariostayca...

Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Fleetwood Creek Natural Area for its stunning lookout views, especially during the vibrant fall season, and its tranquil, less crowded atmosphere. The easy trails are a plus for a relaxed nature escape. However, the challenging and rough access road is a significant drawback for many, often requiring specific vehicle types or a longer walk-in. Reddit+2

"The road to the trail is pretty Rocky but doable with a minivan. Follow Ballyduff road extension until you get the the Fleetwood Natural Area sign. Turn right on the path which brings you to the trailhead/parking. The trail is just under 1.5km, we walked it counter clockwise, the viewing platform was towards the end. Beautiful views of the fall colours."

Mariette Bardoel

"You need an SUV to go down the narrow path and pray that another car is not coming from opposite direction. There is a nice lookout in the short trail. The flora is a bit different compared to what u see elsewhere in GTA parks. Not busy at all ...so you might enjoy the tranquility"

Al Imran H Khan

"Definitely off-the-beaten-path, but worth it (if you can find it!). Lookout is awesome and accessed by an easy and short loop trail. The road in, however, is pretty rough and requires at least an SUV with high clearance. Or you can hike in from the main intersection at Ballyduff for an additional km on foot. There are no signs for the natural area at this juncture and several others indicating private property that dissuade you from going any further. Enhanced directions from the main road would definitely reduce confusion when trying to locate the trailhead!"
