Reviews Summary

La Barrière Park is a beloved natural escape south of Winnipeg, praised for its year-round activities and scenic beauty along the La Salle River. Visitors appreciate the opportunities for outdoor recreation, from summer paddling and fishing to winter sports. While some facilities like washrooms could see improvements, the park's accessibility and natural charm make it a highly recommended destination for all seasons.

"This is a beautiful place located south of the city with the Seine river crossing the park. During summer you can fish, hike, kayak, paddle in the river or just have a BBQ in one of the many picnic places. During winter you can walk, snowshoeing, or ski country in the frozen river. As many green areas in Winnipeg it's a pleasure in each season."

Carlos Prosperi

"Really beautiful fall colors. Nice paths along the river. Washroom facilities needed some work, but not bad."

Colleen Renaud

"La Barriere Park is a winter wonderland! Beautiful park South of the city down Waverley into the RM of Ritchot. Having gone in January we witnessed people dog walking, hiking, sledding, cross country skiing, learning to snowboard and ski, playing disc golf, snowmobiling, skating and ice fishing. Areas on the river for skating were cleared and paths for cross country skiing were well groomed in most places on the river. Such a beautiful place to enjoy winter in Manitoba. Be prepared to walk a fair distance if you park on the road on a busy day and dress accordingly."
