📍Nile Creek Trail, Vancouver Island When temperatures reach 27C it's time to look from some cold water. Our friend described the hike as being an adult jungle gym. He wasn't lying. Make shift bridges, balancing over mud pits and crossing creeks, pulling one's self up a roped embankment at one point and then the ultimate reward. Freezing cold water rushing down Multiple waterfalls. #vancouveris...

Reviews Summary

Visitors rave about the adventurous 'jungle gym' feel of Nile Creek Trail, with its numerous waterfalls and refreshing swimming spots. While the muddy and technical terrain is a highlight for many, some caution that it can be challenging for younger hikers or those seeking an easy stroll. The well-maintained sections and the beauty of the falls make it a highly recommended Vancouver Island hike.

"Great trail, well maintained. Could see the fish swimming in the creek. Varied trail environments. The Linx trail had a tapping guard on the side for the visually impaired."

Savannah McKenzie

"Great trail. We parked at the base and did the full hike to the falls. From the parking spot at the end of the road it’s gravel path and great for all abilities. That ends at a creek and so worth it even for this shorter section. There were trails and a new foot bridge on the way which we didn’t explore but look great. After the creek the trail is more “island hike trail” style. Roots to pop over and narrower. After we crossed under the highway the trail becomes more technical in terms of log crossings, wet spots with stumps and more up and down. There were some ropes handy in spots but not needed yet. When you get to the bottom set of the falls it’s beautiful. If you want to continue up to see the remainder of the falls you carry on. Use the ropes and be careful with footing, especially when conditions are wet. It’s beautiful and well worth the hike. On the day we went we were the only ones on the trail which was great."

Jennifer Desilets

"Muddy uneven terrain in narrows of bush. Swimming is refreshing"
