What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors appreciate the tranquil beauty and scenic drive to Cabot Head Lighthouse, offering a peaceful escape with lovely Georgian Bay views. However, the poorly maintained road and frequent, high 'suggested donation' requests are common points of contention, with some finding the access and upkeep lacking for the requested contribution.
"Very disappointing. The views are nice but it is not worth the drive to the lighthouse. The road is full of potholes and very poorly maintained. The old lighthouse itself is also poorly maintained. The group who takes care of its upkeep seems to have bitten off more than they can chew and there are constant reminder signs to make a " $20 donation". Seems they would just do better charging a $5 admission."

"Beautiful tranquil quiet gem situated near Dyers Bay in Northern Bruce Peninsula. It was a gorgeous drive in, even on a Foggy day as we got to drive right beside Georgian Bay. The lighthouse nature reserve was closed for the season until May for tours, however we still got to guide ourselves around the area taking the beautiful trail to a water basin that Georgian Bay flows into as well as see two mountain bluffs. We then got to the end of the trails to the shore of Georgian Bay with just a short walk!"

"Haven't even got there, at the begining of May 2019. I wasn't interested in the lighthouse, I drove 2.5 hours there for views. Lighthouse was closed down, no info online, but few proper signs were in place before arriving. I drove on because it didn't matter to me. While driving down the road (that was my real destination) I was stopped and told to go back by a guy in a truck- on the road that didn't seem to be private. Waste of time."
