What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about the stunning turquoise waters and rugged beauty of Halfway Log Dump, often preferring its less crowded atmosphere to the Grotto. While the bouldering is a highlight for some, the parking system and rocky shoreline present minor challenges. Overall, it's a highly recommended natural escape on the Bruce Peninsula.
"Nice hike and decent bouldering but unfortunately the structure of the parking slots are not conducive to boulderers at all. You are required to choose either 7am-1pm or 2-8pm, and you are not allowed to book both, even when the lots are empty. This means that you essentially have 6 hours, many of which will be scrambling to find climbs or getting to the climbs you have found which is an enjoyable but time-consuming challenge. With this said, the quality of the bouldering itself is quite decent, but pretty sparse as it's very difficult to pad most areas."

"I loved this place! I went there on a weekday (end of July) and was surprised there were only a few people considering that all attractions in Tobermory tend to be busy, even during the week. The water had gorgeous shades of blue, and it was very calm which invited us to dive right into it. I strongly recommend you bring your water shoes as the beach is full of rocks which makes it hard to walk barefoot or with sandals. If you walk a little further than the main beach area you’ll find lots of amazing spots where you can spread out a beach tower to sit and appreciate nature. Bring your snacks, water, sunscreen, water shoes and beach towel, and you will certainly have an amazing experience! Highly recommend it. 10/10! Ps: It requires tickets to get in so buy them in advance!"
