Vargas Island Provincial Park is lauded for its wild, adventurous spirit and stunning natural beauty, particularly its desolate beaches and abundant wildlife. It's a destination for those who embrace rugged nature.
"Took Ocean Oufitters and spent the day adventuring around this island in a boat. Seen lots of sea life"
Shay von Hauff
"Excellent Adventure Day Hike is Vargas Island. You could even Camp on the Desolate Island if you Wanted. Bring Long Pants and Bug Spray, Boots Might be Helpful as Well. We had a Super Fun Day and Were also Greeted by Two Whales who were Eating and Playing around in the Waters off the Beach. Highly Recommend Tofino Water Taxi to Drop you Off."
Travis Mason
"Once in a lifetime hike for 2 humans + a greyhound. "Unkept trail" is a bit of an understatement. More like someone made a trail 50 years ago and never tended to it again. Leaves for quite the adventure. Walk through different kinds of scenery. Flat. VERY wet and flooded in April, but we made it to the other side of the island and back, you will too. You'll have to do a lot of weaving around mud, branches, balancing on wooden "planks" etc. Wear long pants to protect your legs from spikey greenery. Deserted beach on the other side - bring lunch and enjoy the peace quiet."
