Location? Maybe Mount Tolmie?

My dad went to UVic in the early 1960s. My sister found some old negatives and got them developed. I am pretty sure this is the top of Mount Tolmie but would appreciate some assurance. My dad has dementia now so he could not tell us where this is.

What's going on with this space at the top of Mt Tolmie? Personally I think it would be a great spot for a basketball court

I got married there ☺️ permit only cost like 25$. Used to rollerblade on it as a youth.

Scenic Viewpoint

Just wondering if anyone can recommend any good scenic viewpoints around Victoria that are driveable? My old man can’t walk very far but hoping to get him out. Thanks.

Mount Tolmie Park is celebrated for its breathtaking panoramic views of Victoria, the Olympic Mountains, and the Strait of Juan de Fuca, especially during sunset. Visitors appreciate the park's accessibility, with roads leading close to the summit, and the pleasant floral scents that enhance the experience. It's a highly recommended spot for photography, picnics, and leisurely strolls.

"Perfect place to view the sunsets, that being said, we were late to view it. It was cloudy but the sun was visible at points. It was our first time here, found it by fluke as we were leaving one destination for another and saw the sun break through the clouds and wanted a vantage point without all the trees that line the sides of the road. Seemed to be a popular place as it was somewhat filled in the upper and lower parking lots. Would definitely love to come back and relax and watch the sun cross the sky. Would recommend stopping in and take in the view of the city and the skyline.."

"Here you can see the sun go down and it's beautiful. You will have a different feeling. You watch and watch for a few minutes before the sun goes down. Is it the same in life, cherish the people and things around you, and the fleeting life."
