Reviews Summary
Woodview Mountaintop Skating offers a picturesque setting with stunning views and a magical ambiance, especially when lit up at night. While many enjoy the scenic trail and warming fire pits, some visitors find the ticket prices steep and the ice conditions inconsistent, making it less ideal for beginners.
"I've been to Blue a few times before, however this is the first time we've gone up to the woosview mountain top skating. The individual price is a bit steep but as part of the Play All Day ticket, it's basically free! They did a great job with the lights at night, unfortunately it was a bit rough after a busy day and some snowfall, but still smoother than a pond. You could easily spend a couple hours lazily going around the large loop a few times and they have an outdoor fire if you need to warm up. Don't worry too much about the length though, if you are a quick skater it only takes about 15 minutes to do the full circle."

"Anyone planning to visit here should consider the following tips: 👇
✅ Beautiful view
✅ Bonfire to warm up
✅ Plenty of seating space
✅ Clean washroom
✅ Restaurant with a coffee shop
However, I would not recommend this place for beginners. We encountered several issues, possibly due to the fact that we visited just the second day after they opened:
❎ No safety mats; my partner injured his ankle because there were no mats set up from the ice to the seating area, causing many people to slip.
❎ Poor maintenance; there were no zambonis, and the ice was in bad shape, with too many potholes that made it unsafe. I fell badly after hitting a deep hole that was covered by snow.
❎ Price; tickets cost $36 for only two hours.
I also suggest not purchasing tickets in advance, as checking the weather is essential before planning your visit.
Overall, while the scenery is majestic, the facilities and pricing lead me to recommend Arrowhead instead. ❄️"

"Went with my wife and kids during the day and at night, the lights give a beauty ambiance.
They have mini Zamboni's to smooth the ice but it's still trail skating not arena ice but smoother than the Rideau canal!
Nothing but great experiences both times."
