Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the Pilot's Monument for its stunning 360-degree panoramic views of Yellowknife and its surrounding lakes. It's considered a must-see landmark and a beautiful tribute to aviation history. Some note the stairs can be a minor challenge for those with mobility issues, and wildfire smoke can occasionally impact visibility.

"Amazing views of Yellowknife and a great landmark.

There are about 75 stairs you need to climb up, so it isn’t accessible. The rise on the stairs is short, so children will be able to manage it without a problem.

Wildfire smoke has blown in today, so the views aren’t quite as good as usual, but still pretty great. We got to watch a couple of float planes take off as well."

Christopher Neufeld

"Perfect place to get a full view of Yellowknife and the surrounding waters, particularly on a sunny day. Easy access although there is a few dozen steps up, so those having difficulty with stairs might not be able to get to the top.
Interesting to see how the lakes are still partially frozen in May, even when it's 20c outside. A definite must see in Yellowknife"

Malcolm Gray

"Nice viewpoint to see the entire Yellowknife city from top. You get a 360 degree view of the city from here. There are some small easy stairs to climb. Don’t miss."
