Reviews Summary

Visitors are consistently impressed by the vast and eclectic collection within the mansion, a testament to Pedro del Río Zañartu's global travels. The park's natural beauty, especially the Biobío River mouth, is also a significant draw. While some areas, like the gardens, could benefit from more upkeep, the overall experience is considered enriching and worthwhile.

"The mansion is located on the top of the hill between the valley of Concepcion and the BioBio river mouth. The house is full of collectibles that the original owner brought from his trips around the world. One of the most impressive ones is a mommy. You can’t take pictures of the collection. Because of the earthquake, about 70% of the house is closed, and most of the collection was moved to the west side.
The park give you access to the river mouth. Which is a very spectacular beach with rocks. The last part of the river is used for windsurfing."

David Gervic

"Home and museum of Senor Zanartu. World traveler and collector-- amazing amount of collection from all over and hence a look at the world around 1880... before all the good souvenirs had been scooped up. Some intriguing pieces. Apparently had a lot of time and money.

He built, we're told, the house, garden and the elaborate labyrinth around the base of the hill-now sadly neglected--but suggestions of wealth are the big chopped down trees, view of his property, extensive garden layout. (Mostly untended now) and the spacious layout. Gardeners should not see this. Not to be obsessive but it begs for restoration.

No using your iPhone for fear of photos. Some labels can't be translated as a result. Guide attaches herself at entrance - only Spanish. Tip expected."

John Sweeney

"Lovely place to visit, easy to park but there isn't anywhere to buy food or drinks so bring your own."
