Reviews Summary
Reviews for Cementerio General Talcahuano are mixed, with some visitors praising the well-kept green areas and attentive staff, while others report negative experiences with staff rudeness, questionable security, and high costs for services. The cemetery offers a peaceful environment in its older sections but may lack shade and have accessibility challenges.
"I went with my brother, who has a physical disability. I showed him my disability card and asked a guard if he'd let me drive through. He didn't want to because "it would be packed with cars." Oh, and according to him, I was just going there, when in reality I was going to a funeral at the end of the cemetery. After telling him that my brother wouldn't be able to go there with just crutches, he reluctantly let us. As I left, I honked the horn to get them to open the gate for me, and another guard, also very rudely and angry at me for honking the horn, asked us why we were honking if they had a camera. A bad experience, especially at the time of going to the funeral of a loved one, when we need more empathy from the cemetery staff. This happened today, June 25th, at approximately 3:15 p.m."

"Beautiful cemetery. The staff is attentive. They sell very good flowers on the side."

"Cemetery with parking and whereabouts nearby. It has well-kept green areas; There are some places of shade missing, especially in the new part, since in the old part, it has an avenue of trees.
As a cemetery it is a bit complicated. Service is average, but safety is questionable. Being in the back niches (at the end of the cemetery) is dangerous from a certain hour and even the guards warn you not to stay so late. For a Municipal cemetery, it is expensive, both for burials and for making any modifications (attaching plaques, transfers, putting up glass, etc.). The redeeming feature is that the people who work there have good treatment and explain the procedures quite well."
