"This is one of the 10 popular old towns in Cheng Du. It is about 2hrs from the CBD by car. It was built more than one thousand years ago along a river, but suffered a sever damage in the Wen Chuan earthquake in 2008. Now most the town was either rebuilt or refurbished. It was done in a way to imitate the traditional design. However, it isn’t well managed to maintain its appearance & unique character, and has become like any other commercialised old towns here. Nonetheless, it is still a nice place to spend a day & walk around the laneways & buy some local souvenirs & eat some local snacks."
