Reviews Summary

Visitors praise Guangji Temple for its serene atmosphere and beautiful traditional architecture, offering a peaceful escape within Beijing. It's appreciated as an active Buddhist center and a glimpse into Chinese spiritual heritage. Some find it can be busy on weekends, and photography rules should be observed.

"Whenever I’m in Beijing I always go there to pay respects and meditate with the locals."

Micheal Harding

"It's directly accessible from exit B of the Xisi metro station on line 4. Free admittance. It is an active Buddhist temple and you'll see monks strolling the grounds and worshipers burning incense. This is not setup for tourist activity since there are no English signs or map within the grounds to indicate the landmarks. the buildings of worship had benches set in the front for worshipers to bow.

You can pair this visit with a short walk to the Temple of Ancient Monarchs or walk across the street to the Geological Museum. All of which I think you can pass over."
