Reviews Summary

Visitors often praise Yunju Temple for its historical depth, particularly the unique Stone Sutras and ancient pagodas. The serene atmosphere and natural beauty provide a peaceful escape from the city bustle. However, some find the journey to the temple lengthy and note limited amenities onsite.

"very nice"

lionel Albert

"The temple's greatest assets are its beautiful views and the stupas on its grounds. Unfortunately, whoever restored it clearly didn't put in the effort. It's a shame, because the place has a truly fascinating history. The temple's collection includes, among other things, stone tablets inscribed with the Buddha's teachings (unfortunately, they can't be viewed), which a monk wrote down out of fear of the impending end of the world. In my opinion, it's not worth the trip, as it takes about three hours from the city center, and the entrance fee is more expensive than other, much more beautiful temples in Beijing."

Seti Menmaatre

"Yunju Temple, where the Fangshan Stone Sutras are currently collected, has magnificent architecture and many Indian-style pagodas, which is well worth seeing."
