What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
The Sixaola International Bridge offers a unique and exciting border crossing experience, with the aging bridge itself being a highlight. While the views are described as 'okay,' the thrill of crossing into another country is a major draw. Travelers appreciate the accessibility of goods in the Panamanian markets and the bridge's role as a gateway to Bocas del Toro. However, be prepared for potential delays with paperwork and associated fees.
"It is nice for a bridge. The view is ok but the crossing into the other country is exciting. Locals hangout on the bridge. A more chill crossing to Costa Rica."

"The newbridge is grea.t I guess the only inconveniences it's doing customs on Costa Rican side, but after that the Panamanian side everything will run smoothly, if you really have your documents on order and in some cases that it's mandatory, you have purchased your ticket out of the country ahead of time, because Panamanian will need proof that you're leaving the country before you enter it."

"This is not a review for Sixaola or Guabito.
It's a short Backpack-Guide how to get here and how to get away.
Most travlers go here from Costa Rica to Bocas del Toro (Isla Colón) or reverse. From San José to Sixaola ~16$ p.P. with Mepe (The only bus company in this area)
Crossing the Boarder 8$ in Cost Rica and 8 $ in Panama. Kinda cheeky. It's good to have Dollars here! Keep the Papers, you will need it on the return. 30D valid.
Guabito to Amirante local Bus / Collectivo 2.5€ or Taxi/Collectivo 10€ p.P.
Farrry from Amirante to Bocas del Toro 8 / 10$ single / roundtrip."
