"We spent 8 days in Guanacaste and this beach is the best!!!! Not super busy, but populated enough to make you feel safe in the water. There are little trees lining the beach that are perfect for shade and keeping towels & bags out of the sand."

"2025 was our third visit in 6 years to Playa Flamingo and while the area has changed so much it’s still beautiful and we’ll keep coming back. The waves get rough and no life guards on the beaches here, so be prepared for your little ones. You can rent a tent and chairs from the locals (prices have doubled for these things since our first visit) and you can order food from Coco Loco, grab a bite to eat from 5 O’Clock Somewhere in Margaritaville or grab empanadas from locals walking the beach. When we were here in 2022 there was a local with a tent and grill set up on the beach and he made the most amazing chicken & rice in a pineapple, we were looking forward to that this trip but we didn’t see him. This area is laid back but you can find things to do if that’s what you’re looking for. We’ve gone on a catamaran, rented a jet ski in the area, took tours from here (jungle river tour to see monkeys and crocodiles, rainforest tour, hot springs, ATV). Plenty to do and places to eat are walking distance. Some of the most beautiful sunsets are seen here"
