What Travellers Say
Reviews Summary
Playa Islita is praised for its scenic beauty and tranquil, uncrowded atmosphere, making it a perfect spot for relaxation and stargazing. While it lacks extensive amenities and isn't ideal for swimming, its charm lies in its peacefulness and the option for upscale dining. It's a great getaway for those seeking quietude.
"A smaller beach, compared to its neighbor beaches, Playa Islita has the advantage of being scenic and has a large, upscale hotel and restaurant fronting the ocean. Fortunately, there is ample public beach access and parking.
The swimming here was good and a few beginning surfers were making a go of it. The beach was not crowded in late November and was surprisingly clean of debris despite recent storms.
The town is very small and authentic but doesn't offer much in amenities besides a soda and mini super. There was a beautiful roadside waterfall, a church and several scenic points driving south out of town. Islita is a fantastic vacation getaway if you can find a nearby place to stay or are willing to pay for the upscale beach hotel."
