Reviews Summary
Visitors rave about Playa Real Bahía de los Piratas, calling it one of the most beautiful and virgin beaches in Costa Rica. Its tranquility, natural beauty, and the spectacular sunset bird show are major highlights. Some note the road can be rough and advise caution with rip tides and rocks in the water.
"I truly believe this was the most beautiful beach I visited in Liberia, and I visited A LOT. Be careful of the rip tide going out to the little island off shore. Please stay until sunset (unless you're afraid of birds). At sunset all of the local birds fly toward that little island offshore (I call it "Bird Island") & it is the absolute most beautiful experience. All of these little birds zipping over your head, flying towards the colorful sunset and landing on this island. By the time a few minutes have passed, the island is TEEMING with birds. It's insanely beautiful. The pictures don't even suffice. It's worth the drive, I promise."

"One of the most beautiful and virgin beaches we have been during our Costa Rica trip. We were alone there, really quiet and hot. Like movies. If you can, visit this place! Road to go there is a bit wild and even more if rains but its worthy!"

"A small beach full of peace and tranquility, very few people, wonderful view. Don't forget your camera and something to eat. This little corner is far from being invaded in recent years by markets like other beaches in Costa Rica. Perfect for a writer or someone who likes reading or just being in a free space that they enjoy and don't forget to take out their trash and not take seashells and let's learn to recycle"
