"What a great experience. Our tour guide was Anje and she was so informative and truly seems to enjoy her work. We learned so much about the resident animals and about the animals who naturally hang out in and around the sanctuary. We arrived around 9:05 and there was plenty of parking and we did not need advance tickets. It was incredible to be so close to so many animals native to Costa Rica. We absolutely loved learning that a portion of our entry fee goes to insulating power lines to help reduce electrical shocks to wild animals in Costa Rica. This was something we’d been trying to learn about and think needs to be funded due to the amount of animal deaths every single year. We also love it anyone over 18 can sign up for 2 weeks or longer to volunteer here. What a unique and amazing experience that would be."

"Carlos gave us the private tour at 2pm: and I can hands down tell you it was worth the extra money; your dollars support such a great organization. Carlos was so kind, informative, fun, and engaging: he really cared about this work and it shows. He answered every question we had. The JRC has a strict ‘no photos’ policy with people interacting with the animals; that is a clear sign of a place that the animals in rehab come 1st, and your tourism 2nd; that’s how it should be. We got to see each animal, know there story of how they came to be residing in the JRC, and why conservation work like this so often important for education tourism. I cannot recommend this enough; it was an excellent place to visit and learn."

"We had an amazing tour (German speaking) in the Rescue Center.
First things first: you won't find jaguars or other big wild cats here!
Its a rescue center for the local wildlife, but nevertheless definitely worth a visit.
Our Guide "Ale" was very kind, patient and explained perfectly what the center is all about. Nice insights into the local wildlife, I learned a lot and respect the nature of Costa Rica even more now!
And every cent you spend here is going right back into the wildlife preservation, so you're doing a good deed with your visit."
