"The Church of St. Francis in Sibenik, Croatia, has a striking wooden ceiling built in 1674. A panel on the ceiling depicts the Assumption of the Blessed Virgen Mary."
David Stanley
"The church of St. Francis is definitely one of the highlights of the city of Sebenico because of the beautiful 4 altar paintings by Matteo Ponzone (here in Croatia called Matej or Matija Pončun), 1635-39 and 1655, which are not only his own masterpieces, but masterpieces in their own right. Interesting to see that no one seems to notice them. People cannot recognize beauty unless they are told. Don't miss them. (Regardless of what some old guidebooks might say, the ceiling is definitely not by Ponzone. It is now - questionably - attributed to the workshop of Giovanni Battista Volpato, more known as thief and forger of the works of Jacopo Basano than as a painter.)"
