"This is a reasonably interesting fort with breathtaking views of the surroundings. We were there in August 2025 and perhaps 25-30% of it was inaccessible for maintenance or other reasons. The upkeep of this quite magnificent site is lacking and the exhibitions are poor. On balance this is worth a visit if you are staying numerous days in Split and are running out of things to do."

"Historical site with rich history. The fortress was very well conserved and maintained. Awesome sight. Being set against the top of the hill makes it even more grand. We love it and was wowed by its stunning architecture and the surrounding hills. Simply spectacular!! It's a must visit location if you're visiting Split."

Easy to get around but does have some slippery surfaces so those with difficulties walking be aware.
