So quiet and potentially just as good as the actual Colosseum. Pula is so underrated imo. Amazing Roman ruins, truffles, olive oil, great wine and beautiful beaches ✨ #pulacroatia #romeonabudget #romanruins #croatiaholiday #istriacroatia #pulaamphitheater #pulaarena #croatiatraveltips

Reviews Summary

Visitors consistently praise the House of Istrian Olive Oil for its educational and sensory experiences. The knowledgeable staff, engaging exhibits, and especially the guided tastings are highlighted as major draws. While some suggest adding information on climate change impacts, the overall sentiment is overwhelmingly positive, with many recommending it as a must-do in Pula for its unique insight into Istrian gastronomy.

"The museum is best way to experience Istrian olive oil, and teaches you not just about the history but in the green and gold experience also how you can recognize good quality olive oil. The employees were fantastic and very knowledgeable. I recommend the gold experience as you can taste in total 8 olive oils. Because we eat vegan and the dessert is not vegan, we got a discount.

You do not have to book the experience before. When you get there, you first pay and then walk through the exhibition on your own. After you are done, you get a presentation and guided tasting.

One thing I would improve is to add a section on the effects of the climate crisis on olive oil production. It impacts it a lot now and in the future and when asked, employees could tell a lot a out it."

"An interesting museum if you're interested in gastronomy. The clear explanations and tastings will teach you how to recognize real olive oil. Friendly and hospitable staff complete the experience. We spent about two hours inside. Only go if you're interested."

Marc Lansink

"Had a super fun tasting and exploring experience at the Istrian olive oil museum. You get to experience several different types of olive oil - both great products from local places in Istria or more generic to really taste the different between good quality and bad quality. You also stroll through the museum and history of olive oil production."
